“For me Zero Waste Pattern Cutting -method is a new and different approach to design and pattern making, a fresh way of thinking. It’s also a great way to understand the relationship between form and body. Geometry has been my favorite subject, so this approach is intriguing, and feels very natural to me.

Even though I have chosen this career, it feels absurd to create something new into the world which is already drowning in waste. So, at the same time, I have tried to find justification to what I am doing. Zero waste pattern cutting -technique feels like a step to the right direction. It offers a solution to one part of the problem, a more sustainable approach to fashion design and production.

Ever since the course, I have been sketching zero waste patterns and seeing potential patterns everywhere. My brain is bustling with new ideas.”
